Dear Dr Ski

I note that your site has been dormant for some time and I wondered if you were still offering advice to skiers around the globe? If so you might be able to help me, on a recent holiday I was skiing with my husband and some friends, making some pretty decent turns (I thought) when one of the group took me aside and told me that 'my head was in the wrong place'? You know how it is, doesn't matter who you go skiing with there is always some self appointed 'expert' trying to ruin your confidence, anyway I have been trying my hardest to get my head 'in the right place' and I have sent a short video clip (under separate cover) could you and your team of experts have a look and let me know what you think?

In your debt

The Constant Gardener

Dear Constance

You are quite right, I have been 'off the air' for some time, surprising what a few ill advised comments about the President of FIFA can do for you? As a result I have been lying rather low but with the news that Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein (no relation of Sadam I trust) is to run against dear old Sepp for the Presidency, I feel the time has come for normal service to be resumed.
Talking of Prince Ali and all things Eastern, you haven't got any Asian blood running through your veins by any chance? When studying your video clip it immediately brought to mind a recent visit to Milton Keynes, I held a workshop in the Snow Dome for the boys from BASI. After the event we retired to a local hostelry for several pints of Old Peculiar, an English bitter by all accounts, and it certainly made me feel peculiar, thereafter things got a bit cloudy as we staggered off to the BASI team's favourite restaurant run by another Ali.
Well the head movement in your video brought it all flooding back, always beware the 'self appointed expert' I made the same mistake with the curry, The Bengal Bowel Splitter the BASI boys insisted I try proved a little too spicy for my taste and the last thing I remember before passing out was Ali waggling his head just like you skiing only Ali was taking an order for four Lamb Bhoonas at the time.
My advice - only listen to the experts, it all comes down to the 'Grundverhalten', the basic position, skiing is done below the knees, keep everything else motionless..............which was a dam sight more than I could do for about a fortnight after that curry.

Back with a vengence

Dr. Ski
